DARWIN in Patagonia 1832-1834

An adventure to the end of the world, which inspired Darwin to write The Descent of Man.

On December 27, 1831, the HMS Beagle departed from Davenport, England, bound for South America. Aboard the now-famous ship was a twenty-two-year-old who had just completed his theological studies at Cambridge University. His name was Charles Darwin. This book recounts that expedition, which lasted five years and was pivotal in the career of the father of the theory of evolution, as well as the historical and cultural context in which it unfolded.
